MySQL database access

Dissolved Organic Carbon database (DOCdb) uses the MySQL relational database management system for merging and analyzing the disparate data types to be collected in this project. This document gives a high-level description of the tables that make up the DOCdb core schema. The tables and their logical relations are explained in the diagram below:

Sample information

The “sample_info” table contains information of the sampling strategy and relevant standard operating procedures, including an artificial identifier per sample, location, date, time intervals of sample collection (T0h, T3.5h, T24h), replicate number (1, 2, 3) of the sample that is used for either chemical or expression analysis, and the treatment of artificial medium with or without soup. It enables the integration of chemical and gene expression data into a DOC transformation network via the sample identifier.
